One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
In 2011, an estimated 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. along with 57,650 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer.
Approximately 39,520 women in the U.S. are expected to lose their battle to breast cancer (especially women under the age of 50.)
Breast cancer is more common in African-American women than white women.
African-American women are more likely to die of breast cancer than woman of any other race.
