This is my 18th year to participate in The Race for the CureŽ! One in seven women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. The Komen Indianapolis Race for the CureŽ raises money to fund education, screening and treatment programs for these women and thousands of others in our own community and supports the national search for a cure. Please Support Me In The Race JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER TODAY! EVERY STEP COUNTS! I walk in memory of those who have passed away, not only from breast cancer, but from any cancer or major illness. Marcia Wertzberger (my "other" mother - breast cancer), Scott Theiss (my husband - Hodgkins Disease), Ray Fuller (my dad - leukemia), Collin Brown (my grandfather - liver cancer), Lynn Walker (a neighborhood friend - breast cancer) - those who are fighting for their lives or who are in remission - Laura Hoskins (college friend - multiple myeloma) Jill Thomas (my mother-in-law - non-Hodgkins leukemia), Elva Morrison (my friends mom). |
What does Komen do?
For more than 25 years, Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease, and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.
Over the next 25 years, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer if we don’t find a cure. Komen will not stop until we discover and deliver the cures. That’s our promise.
We Will Find the Cure!
